Key facts

  • Patch 5.01 is out on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series and PC, with gameplay fixes and new graphics options.
  • It reached Switch 2 on October 19, about two weeks after the other platforms.
  • The Japanese Switch 2 version will get it after certification.

Patch 5.01 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is now available on Nintendo Switch 2. CD Projekt Red released it on that console on October 19, 2026, about two weeks after the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC versions, according to MP1st and Twisted Voxel.

When the patch first came out on the other platforms, CD Projekt Red said the Switch 2 update was still being worked on and would come as soon as possible, Gameblog reported. No date was given at that time.

The patch fixes many gameplay problems. For example, blade oils are now applied automatically in every session, boats no longer move out of control, and dodging no longer has a delay. It also adds three new graphics options: bloom, light shafts and depth of field. Other changes include performance improvements and Ukrainian text in all regions.

On Switch 2, the patch also adjusts image sharpness and resolution, and fixes a rare crash when moving between regions. It fixes a problem with HD Rumble on the left Joy-Con 2 and improves cache handling for cross-platform mods.

The remastered game launched on September 29, 2026, on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series and PC. It was made by CD Projekt Red with the studio Yigsoft. According to Twisted Voxel, the Japanese Switch 2 version will receive the patch after certification, with no date announced. CD Projekt Red has also said that players will need to confirm their privacy settings again because of a server-side issue.
